WEEDO was one of the most organized volunteers I did in Africa. The team is very professional and willing to receive new ideas that transform the lives of the girls at the school. I would return without a doubt, and I hope that more people can continue to contribute to the beautiful work of the the organization! Estafania from Chile 2022

From July 2021 to December 2021, I lived and worked at WEEDO in Kigamboni, Tanzania. As a volunteer resident expert, I had the privilege of working with Rehema Konza, observing her in all aspects of her work. During these six months I was hugely impressed by Rehema’s leadership and management style. She lives and model what I would call ‘value-based’ leadership. It is truly inspiring to observe the way Rehema leads the girls and the staff of WEEDO, doing so by example. On a personal level I have had the opportunity to watch Rehema in action as she has met with Tanzanian government officials, various embassy staff, social workers as well as business and community leaders. Rehema, though modest, always commands respect with her natural authority that emanates from the authenticity of her own background and experience. She is a thoughtful practitioner able and willing to articulate the theory of change and the values behind her leadership at WEEDO. She is an inspiring and charismatic personality. On a very personal level, Rehema is one of the most impressive people I have met. She is a mentally strong and driven woman who has found her ‘WHY’ in life and is focused and single minded in turning that into positive action. Her energy, and desire to create the the strongest version of herself in hugely inspiring, to the young women she leads but also to me. I had no hesitation in being led by her. She is the sort of woman who is not content to simply build a village but wants to build ‘armies of change’ that make the world better. Susanne Wenzel from Germany 2021.

I couldn't have chosen a better african experiente! Rehema, host and owner of WEEDO, is a strong woman with incredible ideas and an example to be followed. All social volunteering experiences should be in local NGOs like hers: with a strong foundation and the goal of helping the the organization others in the long run, not just remedying problems momentarily. The program has a variety of activities. So, no matter what your specialty, you can certainly both contribute and learn together. And be sure to experience Tanzanian life as it is, a unique and enriching experience. Julia from Brazil 2020

It was a lifetime experience with Rehema and the WEEDO team!! the organization has a beautiful purpose and, more than that, they are really managing on how to do it, and bringing real impact to the place where they are. I went there to perform administrative and process improvement work, and what I found was a perfect field for that (and also for any work): open minded people and really willing to get the best for their business. They have a lot of needs and are opened to the volunteer proposal. The staff is friendly, funny and really makes you dive into the local culture. Must go! Rafael from Brazil 2019.

I visited and volunteered at WEEDO in November 2019, both teaching and learning from the wonderful girls at the organisation. Rehema, the founder, is kind and welcoming and I had a fantastic few week in Tanzania staying with her at the centre. She is a true light of her community, and it was an honour to get to know her. Aside from the lessons I taught, we had lots of fun too; a beach day with the girls, trips to Dar Es Salaam and up the Coast as well as a
traditional Tanzanian drumming and dancing party. Rehema even helped to organise a weekend Safari to Mikumi National Park with a friend of hers who is a tour guide for me and a couple of other volunteers. After the trip I felt like I'd made a true friend in Rehema and we are still in touch! All my love to everyone at WEEDO, they're fantastic people who you will learn a lot from. You should definitely volunteer / visit them if you get a chance. Poppy from

My experience at WEEDO and living with Rehema was incredible. I got to meet so many beautiful, young and strong girls that are eager to learn. They showed me what it is like to live in Tanzania and to be a part of their culture. Every girl that I met is searching for a better future and being a part of that was amazing. I recommend this volunteering experience to anyone, especially when it is your first time. The people are kind and so helpful. Thank you, Rehema, and all other Weedo girls! Elke from Belgium 2022

Rehema is an amazing woman and host, she is kind, open-minded, very respectful and smart. She works hard to provide a brighter future for the girls of her the the organization is genuinely happy when there is a new opportunity for these girls to improve themselves and be actors of the future. I had the most wonderful time teaching English to these girls, we played, laughed, and learned from each other. I felt a true connection with them, they are so special! Working with an NGO such as WEEDO is serious, but it is also so humanly enriching. This first volunteering made me grow; I am so grateful! Nidae from Belgium 2022

WEEDO is a beautiful project with young girls from Tanzania who are part of a very challenging environment. Me and my girlfriend stayed there for 2 weeks helping with their social media and content creation. It was an unique experience and we had a great time with the girls and also with all the team, who are incredible people.
PROS
– They really live their purpose and care for the girls
– They are extremely open to new ideas and feedback
– The location is awesome (3km from the beach).
CONS
– They could have a bit more structure to the girls, making sure they are always on class. David from Brazil 2022

Weedo is the organization where you immediately know that the people really hard-work, they are very organized, the girls are motivated and open minded to whatever you want to teach. The place around is very peaceful and very local, I love it. The volunteers house is big and very close to the school. I could say that they can improve in food and provide basic thing like toilet paper and drinkable water. The rest was perfect! Thanks a lot, Recardo from Chile 2022

During my time volunteering at WEEDO, I was exposed to so many opportunities that I will forever be grateful for. I was able to teach English and Yoga to motivated and capable young women in
addition to exploring the fashion industry in all aspects including designing, sewing and modelling. I was just as much a student as I was a teacher because of the constant exposure to new cultures, ideas, and skill sets. The knowledge shared however was not the most valuable thing I found at WEEDO, but the priceless friendships and bonds formed with the kindest people I've ever met. Alena from USA 2023

My experience at weedo has been incredibly rich humanly. I shared the daily life of Rehema and 8 girls in the house: mutual aid, solidarity, generosity on a daily basis. I participated in the
organization of a weedo presentation document, the taking of photos/videos and communication on Weedo's social networks, in the creation of fundraising for the association. Rehema was at the top with me. This first volunteering more than made me want to
make others. Clemence from France 2021
